When I began to illustrate Kenojuak Ashevak as a child, I was fascinated by how her childhood on Baffin Island in the Artic Circle might have formed her. I painted Kenojuak inspired by her the Inuit Culture she was born into and how I could image color and line of the geography of her world might have had interplay in her artistic style.
